Act Now! The Race to get a Climate Act for Northern Ireland

People power played a vital role in securing climate change legislation for Northern Ireland, an experience shared across Europe. As of July 2023, climate change laws with enshrined long-term targets have been adopted in 18 countries across Europe. EJNI has collaborated with Friends of Earth NI and national partners to create a short 30 minute film that tells the story of how ordinary people gained political support for Northern Ireland’s first Climate Act in the face of political opposition and in the context of a highly unstable government.
