The blue-green algae blooms in Lough Neagh are not new, but it is becoming more frequent and more severe. The ongoing scientific research shows that this tackling this issues is not a simple matter of implementing a few localised measures but a complex challenge that requires large-scale, multi disciplinary, and multi sectoral solutions at a whole catchment scale.
