The Food Tracker is a survey of UK citizens that gathers evidence on food waste attitudes, knowledge, and behaviour. It is the largest and longest-running series of its kind, having been undertaken by WRAP since 2007. It is designed to inform UK government policies, WRAP’s activities and to assess any changes in attitudes and behaviours over time. This wave of fieldwork was carried out in Northern Ireland by Icaro between the 30th of October – 13th of November 2024 . The survey involved 752 interviews with adults in Northern Ireland who have responsibility for food shopping and / or preparation in the home. This report presents the key findings from the November 2024 survey, with a detailed focus on food management competencies, behaviours, and levels of skills. In addition, it covers an assessment of the current context and the cost-of-living crisis on food waste attitudes. Furthermore, it continues to track the self-reported levels of food waste, attitudes to food waste, recall of communications and messaging around it.
